WINDHOEK – The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has dispatched well-known football coach Serame Letsoaka from South Africa to be the chief examiner in the four-day CAF-A Licence coaching course, which started Monday at Soccer House and he will be assisted by the NFA Technical Director Klaus Staerke.
After three blocks of studies, participants are being examined to gauge their knowledge before they can be awarded the top coaching badge. In January 2009, the confederation launched one of its most important programmes to date with the eagerly anticipated CAF Coaching Licensing System. This landmark licensing programme seeks to set and promote benchmarks with regard to coaching on the African continent and help recognize African coaches for their knowledge and experience. The CAF Coaching Licensing System will serve as a platform to evaluate coaches and to inject more professionalism into the art of coaching aimed at reaching homogeneous and highly professional standards. One of the key objectives is to ensure that each African coach or any coach operating in Africa possesses the relevant licence to perform their duties effectively.
The 18 coaches on the course are: Wallace Doeseb, Bobby Samaria, Gerard Guther, Martin Bock, Leonard Nambandi, Lucky Shipanga, Sikerete John Sikerete, Lucky Kakuva, Gilbert Rwasoka, Agnus Elemu, Hesham Ibrahim, Ali Akan, Kamaal Sait, Christy Guruseb, Jacqui Shipanga, Timo Tjongarero and Willem Kapukare.
