Love is in the air …everywhere you look

Love is in the air …everywhere you look

  Wilhelmina Imene

As the week ends, it draws nearer to the day most people have been looking forward to: the day of love; except for those who tell themselves “Every day is Valentine’s Day”.

Come Monday, almost every girl (and some boys) will be waiting for that call from Two Point Delivery, saying: “We have a delivery for you from a secret admirer”.

For the past week, shops have been decorated with flowers and balloons in white and red – the colour of love, romance, happiness and passion. Neatly-packaged gift hampers, cute teddies and other Valentine’s goodies are also on display for all to see and buy.

Many have already pulled out all stops to make the day unique for their special ones. Spa sessions are booked, restaurant and hotel reservations made, and even trips booked.

But if perhaps you missed your reservation due date by a minute or so, here are a few ideas to make the day worthwhile and memorable for your loved one:

At Home Paint & Wine with ‘Something Artsy’

Something Artsy by arts teacher Jaimee-Lee Diergaardt is bringing Paint & Wine to the lovebirds. This therapeutic paint activity is perfect for a romantic indoor or outdoor setting (depending on the rain). The date-night paint kit consists of two outlined canvases, two easels, brushes and paint. When completed, the individual canvases joined together will create one image which symbolises “two becoming one”, and makes perfect reference to Valentine’s Day.

Something Artsy will also host a post-Valentine’s event for the singles to mingle and find love. This live-painting event will be hosted on Wednesday under the theme ‘50 Shades of Single’, and participants will have the honour of painting male models posing in MN Creation lingerie. Cake bombshells by Ruusa’s kitchen

Her cakes and cupcakes have been making headlines for the longest time and this Valentine’s Day, she presents cake bombshells ideal for lovers who want to surprise their partners.
