LÜDERITZ – Lüderitz on Monday re-elected Suzan Ndjaleka of Swapo as its mayor to lead the Swapo dominated authority for another two-year term.

Ndjaleka will also serves as chairperson of the Lüderitz Council.

Swapo councillor, Helaria Mukapuli was also re-elected as deputy mayor and deputy chairperson.

Councillor, Calvin Mwiya of Swapo was elected as a chairperson of the management committee while Councillor Festus Kamati and Councillor Silas Hamukuaya were also elected as members of the management committee with Councillor Abraham Nekomba elected as additional members of the management committee.

RDP councilor, Jordan Namhidi who is in the minority in the seven-member council was elected as an ordinary member of the town council.
Her Worship the Mayor, Suzan Ndjaleka emphasised that her team together with the Lüderitz Town Council with its CEO will continue to implement the programmes that will develop the town of Lüderitz.

She said with only one-year left they needed to work hard so that they will achieve their goals.

All of the re-elected members where also sworn in on Monday by the District Magistrate Peingodjabi Shipo at Lüderitz Town Chamber offices.
