RUNDU – A 12-year-old girl was last Friday allegedly raped by her own uncle at Naucome, a village in the Kavango West Region.
The suspect who defiled the minor girl has since been arrested and remains in police custody. In a separate development a 21-year-old woman was allegedly raped on Saturday at Divundu in the Kavango East Region at around midnight. It is reported the suspect took the victim to his homestead where he reportedly assaulted her before he proceeded to rape her.
The suspect who is known to the victim was arrested the following day.
Another rape case was also reported in the Kavango West Region near Katwitwi. It is reported the suspect pushed the 30-year-old woman against the wall, lifted the victims skirt and brutally raped her while standing. The victim and the suspect both live at Katwitwi. The suspect is now in police custody.
Also, a 27-year-old man committed suicide at Divundu, the deceased is reported to have hanged himself with a rope from a tree and no suicide note was found at the scene.
The victim was identified as Amwele Gabriel Michael (27) from Divundu.
