WINDHOEK – All flags in Namibia will be flown at half-mast as from Tuesday until Thursday, when Namibia’s struggle hero, Andrew Anyanya Intamba, will be laid to rest. Intamba was the Namibian Ambassador to Egypt.  

Minister of Presidential Affairs Dr Albert Kawana announced on Friday that President Hifikepunye Pohamba had conferred the status of national hero on Intamba, who died last week Tuesday at the age of 66. Intamba will be honoured with a state funeral on Thursday, April 17 at the Heroes’ Acre in Windhoek. A memorial service will be held in Windhoek’s Parliament Gardens on Wednesday April 16.

Kawana said flags would fly at half-mast between Tuesday and Thursday the official period of mourning. Kawana said further announcements regarding funeral arrangements would be made later once the programme was finalized.
