Award winning international top model Meriam Kaxuxwena will be opening her new academy, MK Modeling Academy, next month.
She says she expects hundreds of young models to be present for the casting, which will take place on February 20.
The venue is yet to be confirmed.
Meriam plans to recruit up to 40 local models, including some male models. “Young models always want to show off their talents, but some don’t know where to start. Hence I’m giving them this opportunity as a platform to take their career to the next level,” says Meriam.
“Modelling is not by chance, it is a passion that can build into a career. That’s why I advise all upcoming models to take their talents seriously,” Meriam says. She adds that all the models will be trained and sent to international pageants that she previously took taken part in.
The winner of the Miss Hope International 2015/2016 also added that her models would be grouped into various categories, such as Plus Size Models, Photography Models, Runway Models, Pageant Models, Promo Models and Protocol Models.
After the casting she will immediately start with the training. In March the academy will start sending models to represent Namibia at international pageants and fashion shows. The first two models will be sent to Supermodel International that will be held in India later this year.
Meriam will also be hosting her second lingerie and bikini fashion-show in April, drawing on the talents of local models and five international models that will take part in the show.
