WINDHOEK – The Minister of Agriculture, Water and Forestry (MAWF), through the Ministry’s Directorate of Agricultural Production, Extension and Engineering Services (DAPEES) have invited quotations from farmers to supply breeding Boer Goat ewes and rams for its Small Stock Development and Distribution in Communal Areas Project (SSDDCAs).
The SADDCAs is a government funded project that will be implemented in communal areas in Kunene South, Oshana and Kavango West regions where selected communal farmers will benefit based on a set of criteria.
The quotation requirements include:
- Animals must be between 24 and 36 months, and animals offered for procurement by an individual farmer should be a minimum of ten ewes and a maximum of 50 ewes and preferably pregnant. The Boer Goat rams being offered for procurement should be less than five rams and not more than ten rams; all offers will be inspected and evaluated by DAPEES technical staff before November 24 at any Regional DAPEES office nationwide.
- During the inspection of the breeding stock quoted for, prices offered cannot be increased. The MAWF holds the right to accept or reject any offer deemed unsuitable.
