Ignatius Shixwameni was born on September 4, 1966.
Legislative Profile: He is the president of the All People’s Party (APP). Before that he was a member of parliament on a Congress of Democrats (CoD) and Swapo tickets.
He is a former chairperson of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Security.
He is also a former deputy minister of information and broadcasting.
Education: He holds a Master’s in Policy Studies and another in Social Science, and a Bachelor of Arts after having matriculated from Rundu Secondary School.
Career: He is a former secretary general of Namibia National Students Organization (Nanso), and previously served as president of Nanso, secretary of Swapo Youth League in Cuba, secretary of the Swapo Party Youth League (SPYL), member of the Swapo Party Central Committee and secretary general of CoD.
