MTC’s Chief Human Capital and Corporate Affairs Officer, Tim Ekandjo, has congratulated newly crowned 2014/15 MTC Namibia Premier League (NPL) champions African Stars for their long awaited triumph.
Stars won the coveted MTC Premiership title after trouncing relegated Rebels by 4-0 in the capital at the Sam Nujoma Stadium.
“We would like to congratulate 2014/15 MTC Premiership champions African Stars for a sterling performance this season. We would also like to congratulate the club management, coach Woody Jacobs, the players and the club supporters following their league success this season,” said Ekandjo.
Ekandjo reiterated that as a sponsor, it is always exciting when a team wins the league title at the end of the season as has been the case for the past three years because it demonstrates that there was tough competition.
Since 2009, MTC has been the sole sponsor of the Namibia Premier League, with an annual investment of N$14 million per season. In return NPL granted exclusive rights to Mobile Telecommunications Ltd (MTC), thus giving MTC the naming rights to the league.
