Eight secondary schools in the Khomas Region are to participate this Saturday in an educational drama festival on road accidents at the Katutura Community Arts Centre, it was announced in a press statement by the MVA.
A total of sixteen secondary schools initially showed interest in the competition with prize money of more than N$10 000.
According to the press statement the preliminary rounds in the competition will take place on Saturday from 08h00 until 16h00 at the KCAC and the finals will take place on the same afternoon at 17h30 at Arebbusch Lodge.
“The drama competition was initiated with the aim of creating road safety awareness, influence behavior change among the youth and to sensitize them on the impact of road traffic accidents. This drama competition is also an innovative way to reach out to a selected target market of learners, parents and teachers,” said the organizer, Eric Libonganai.
