Namibia braces for international pageant stages

Namibia braces for international pageant stages

This weekend saw a hype of activities in the capital, including Miss Petite, Mister and Miss Supranational Namibia, being crowned on Saturday at Protea and Hilton hotels, respectively.

Miss Petite Global Namibia Josephine Shaapopi said this is not just a dream come true, but a reflection of her dedication.

“This is resilience and perseverance. Going to Malaysia, I can’t even explain I cannot wait to finally fly out of the country, meet new people, and fly our country’s flag high,” she ecstatically said yesterday.

This year’s event marks the third edition of the annual Miss Petite Global, celebrating married women, divorcees, widowed and single mothers under 168cm in height worldwide.

Established in Malaysia in 2021, the contest aims to promote women through different social causes, and redefine the concept of beauty by opening its doors for petite married women, demonstrating that they are also capable, intelligent and empowered.

In June 2025, Namibia will equally be represented in Poland at the Miss and Mister Supranational by Savannah Pereira and Mmoloki Samoka.
