Namibia honours India’s Modi 

India’s prime minister Narendra Modi was honoured with the highest civilian honour, ‘The Order of the Most Ancient Welwitschia Mirabilis’, by President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah on Wednesday.
Modi, during his one-day state visit, met the Indian community and visited State House, the Heroes Acre and parliament before he departed for his home country.
“It is a matter of immense pride and honour for me to receive Namibia’s highest civilian award – ‘The Order of the Most Ancient Welwitschia Mirabilis’, from the President. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the President, the Government, and the people of Namibia. I humbly accept this honour on behalf of 140 crore (1.4 Billion) Indians,” Modi said.
The prime minister dedicated the award to the people of Namibia and India for their continued progress and development, and their enduring strength of the unbreakable friendship.
