The Namibia Tourism Board (NTB) recently launched the Namibia Luxury Travel Market (NLTM) during Africa’s Travel Indaba 2026 in South Africa.

The initiative aims to strengthen the country’s position as a leading luxury and sustainable tourism destination in Africa.

Minister of Environment, Forestry and Tourism, Indileni Daniel, together with the NTB CEO, Chicalu Sebulon, led the official launch.

NTB spokesperson Flora Quest said the NLTM Expo is scheduled to take place in Namibia from 8 to 10 December 2026.

The expo will focus on promoting high-end tourism experiences and attracting investment into the country’s tourism sector.

“The event will create a specialised platform for international buyers, luxury travel designers, tourism investors and other industry stakeholders,” Quest said.

She added that the new platform will help elevate Namibia’s tourism profile globally.

“This flagship initiative aims to elevate Namibia’s high-end tourism offering, stimulate investment and create a dedicated marketplace for luxury travel experiences within the country,” she noted.

Speaking at the launch, Daniel described tourism as a key pillar of Namibia’s economy and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to growing a sustainable and globally competitive tourism industry in line with Vision 2030 and NDP6.

At Africa’s Travel Indaba 2026, NTB exhibited alongside 22 Namibian tourism operators, including small and medium enterprises (SMEs), lodges, tour operators, airlines and other service providers.

The collective exhibition is aimed at showcasing the diversity and uniqueness of Namibia’s tourism products to global buyers, media and industry stakeholders.

Africa’s Travel Indaba is regarded as one of the continent’s leading tourism trade platforms, connecting destinations with international buyers, travel media and tourism professionals.

Through its participation, NTB aims to strengthen partnerships, expand business opportunities and increase Namibia’s visibility in key global markets.

The tourism board further expressed appreciation to stakeholders, exhibitors, partners and the media for supporting the successful launch.

NTB said it now looks forward to hosting the inaugural Namibia Luxury Travel Market later this year, where sustainability, exclusivity and authentic African travel experiences will take centre stage.

The NTB said its participation reaffirms its commitment to tourism growth and supporting local operators within the industry.

“Through its participation at Africa’s Travel Indaba 2026, NTB reaffirms its commitment to driving tourism growth, supporting local tourism enterprises, and strengthening Namibia’s presence in the global tourism market,” Quest stated.
