WINDHOEK – The president of the Namibia National Olympic Committee (NNOC) Agnes Tjongarero yesterday confirmed that the long-awaited Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Queen’s Baton will for the first time arrive in Namibia next week Tuesday, with the relay to start at the Pioneerspark Primary School in the capital the next day.

Namibians are encouraged to submit their names if they want to participate in the relay, which will also feature members of parliament, former athletes, a BBC crew and members of the Commonwealth Federation. The Commonwealth Baton will reach England on May 31 for its final lap to Glasgow and for the opening ceremony of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games on 23rd July.
