Namibian Birth Certificate for Shiloh Nouvel

Home Archived Namibian Birth Certificate for Shiloh Nouvel

By Frederick Philander WINDHOEK The birth certificate of the four-day old star child of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt was processed yesterday at the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration in the capital and will be handed to the parents of Shiloh Nouvel today in Swakopmund. This is the latest development surrounding young Shiloh Nouvel, who like her parents has attracted worldwide media attention and whose photo price tag is US$5 million. “We just could not accept the fact that the child’s father should be queuing at the local Home Affairs office in Swakopmund to obtain such a seemingly trivial, but very important, document. Hence the fact that I have offered to do them the favour here in the capital on their behalf,” said the Deputy Minister of Environment and Tourism, Leon Jooste yesterday. He will be leaving for the coastal town today to hand over the document and spend a few days with the superstar family in their luxurious apartment. “Presently, I am waiting on the Permanent Secretary of Home Affairs to advise me on speeding up the process of obtaining the birth certificate to hand it to Angelina and Brad as a personal favour,” said Jooste in a relaxed and jovial mood after all the stress caused him, too, by the local and international press in the last few days. According to Jooste, it is expected that Shiloh Nouvel and her mother will be released from the Cottage Private Hospital in the next two days. “Both mother and child are doing fine and should be out of hospital soon,” said Jooste, who has befriended the couple in both his personal and official capacities. “Angelina Jolie is truly a film star and a beautiful person in her own right, something that demands respect from all and sundry here and everywhere else,” Jooste told New Era yesterday, full of admiration. “Jolie and Pitt’s presence in the country is of great marketing value to our nation,” said Jooste. Earlier this week, Prime Minister Nahas Angula also expressed his profound delight and pleasure at the birth of Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt as a born Namibian citizen.
