Windhoek
NamPower has announced a scheduled maintenance and investigation of the Kokerboom-Aries 400 kV line in the south of the country, planned for today from 07:00 to 15:00.
The national power utility will during this period carry out maintenance on the line, while South Africa’s power utility, Eskom, will investigate the cause of the power outage that occurred on June 28.
Eskom is involved in the investigation as the fault causing the power outage that affected most parts of the country occurred on the Eskom side of the line. The Kokerboom-Aries 400 kV line is the main line that feeds Namibia with power from Eskom.
NamPower has put in place all necessary measures to ensure continuity of supply during the scheduled maintenance and investigation and does not expect any interruptions.
NamPower has in advance apologised to its customers and the public in general for any inconvenience that might arise from this planned maintenance and investigation.
