The Namibia Defence Force (NDF) Windhoek team were crowned champions of the Khomas Netball League Super 10 league some two weeks ago.
They finished the league with 43 points from 16 matches, winning 14 games, drawing one and losing one.
Wanderers ended second with 39 points, and Unam Jaguars third with 33 points.
Speaking to this publication yesterday, NDF team manager Nepembe Ekandjo said it is a wonderful feeling to win the league, attributing the victory to the entire team – players and technical staff – who worked hard to ensure they prevailed as winners.
“We worked hard this season, losing only one game and drawing one. I am still in disbelief that we won the title this season; I can’t contain my excitement. I believe we deserve to be winners of the league,” she said.
In the first division, United B won by virtue of better goal difference as United A and Tigers also ended the season on 33 points after 12 matches.
In the second division, Gomonate Fella won with 39 points from 14 matches, followed by the Namibia Correctional Service in second position with 36 points, and Unam Jaguars in third position with 24 points.
