Netball Premier League highs and lows

Netball Premier League highs and lows

As the MTC Namibia Netball Premier League round 23 and 24 concluded at the weekend, league coordinator Elina Seibes shared some of the highs and lows experienced.

She said the players have been improving their netball standard through focused training, hence they continue to get satisfactory results during their matches.

Seibes added that the clubs’ preparations during the mid-season break fostered strong unity among teammates, allowing the games to flow for each team.

Premier league coaches have been developing their skills through attending a high-performance coaching course during the week, enabling them to define game plans to maximise team performance.

Seibes said club coaches were being mentored during their matches by senior national team coaches Dorette Badenhorst and Julene Meyer.

She, however, added that infrastructure development is lacking.

“Players were struggling to perform to their maximum capacity due to poor conditions of the netball courts.

Netball as a sport code has few courts that are up to standard in our country, therefore, maximum performance is limited.”

Seibes said due to extremely cold weather conditions on Saturday, especially in Walvis Bay, some players who are usually not exposed to cold conditions, struggled to adjust to the harsh conditions, and this slightly affected their performance.

Here are results, with the league expected to conclude on 28 to 29 September in Otjiwarongo.
