The National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (Namcor) yesterday announced the appointment of Mildred Hendricks to its board of directors.
She brings in over 20 years of extensive legal experience, having served in various significant
roles within State-owned enterprises and development financing institutions.
She is the chief legal advisor at NamPost, where she provides comprehensive legal services, including contract drafting, legal opinions and compliance advisory.
Throughout her career, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise in legal risk identification, corporate governance and compliance management.
Her previous roles include serving as manager: legal and compliance at NamPost, where she was instrumental in managing the Anti-Money Laundering Compliance programme.
She also served as regional manager at the National Housing Enterprise (NHE), overseeing strategic objectives and risk management. She holds a B Juris degree and a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Western Cape, and has completed numerous specialised
courses in financial management, compliance and risk management from renowned institutions
such as the University of Stellenbosch Business School, and the University of Johannesburg.
She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in law in banking from the University of South Africa. Her appointment underscores Namcor’s commitment to reinforcing its governance framework and enhancing its operational effectiveness through experienced and highly-qualified leadership.
