A joint press briefing has just commenced with the ministry of finance and the IMF, as part of the IMF’s Article 4 consultations. IMF is of the opinion that Namibia’s economy will continue with an adjustment period for two to three more years, following exceptional growth in 2015. Risk factors for Namibia include declining SACU revenue and the credibility of fiscal policy, which experienced some slippage last year.
