WINDHOEK -Nice Restaurant and Bar is one of the eateries and drinking hubs in the heart of the City of Windhoek, that can be safely summed up as a fully fledged restaurant and a high-end gastro pub, under one roof. Only it offers extend to dance club with at time live music, and somewhere in the building is a conference facility and a hospitality school-training chefs.

Attracting the young hip crowds to this establishment is the delectable Namibian inspired fusion food, not to mention the relaxing ambience from the classic interior décor, that is good for winding up a day’s work or a stressful week.

Nice, or as it is known by its full name the Namibian Institute of Culinary Education, combines a training school for chefs and a stylish restaurant and bar, which has on several occasions been dubbed as the place for the divas, and nothing could be far from the truth than such an accolade. Clean and classy it is just the rendezvous for that snobby company.

For starters, it’s got a courtyard with wooden benches covered with clean table cloths and looks classic and fancy making it particularly suited for that scorching mid-summer afternoon, with chilly beers just what the weather conditions have order, not to mention it as ideal hideout for that sunny spring day beckons.

The Restaurant and Bar’s able and friendly staff make some of the exotic cocktails around town, one more reason to love the place which brings us to prices: both food and drinks moderately priced.

A few eateries would match the Nice Restaurant and Bar, as deliciousness seems to be a specialty with them. In addition to normal fries, hot wings, and other type of gourmet fit for a pub, there are alligator burgers, catfish sandwich, not to mention the beer battered fried pickles. The Restaurant though has a four-star menu.

This is a place that draws a diverse crowd of locals of all ages (typically younger types and middle ages on the weekends) and though it gets annoyingly crowded at sometimes, it’s still laid back enough that you can meet people, actually hear what they’re saying over the classy songs they play every day. Overall, you won’t find patron having had one too many and close to passing out or having passed out over the counters.

If you’re in the area, it’s worth popping in to satisfy that nagging stomach, appetizer those taste buds and quench that drying throat.
