Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) has led by example by following President Hage Geingob’s directives to implement key performance indicators (KPIs).
Last week NWR rewarded four of its top performing managers from its different resorts with awards and cash prizes totalling N$11 000.
The awards ceremony took place at NWR’s quarterly management retreat, which took place from May 18 to 20 in Khorixas.
Zelna Hengari, NWR’s Managing Director said she found it necessary for the company to recognise those managers who have performed exceptionally well over the past four months since the last retreat held in January 2015.
“As a company that is geared towards achieving profitability, I find it important that we continuously motivate those managers that are working hard to achieve the company’s objectives. These efforts are also aimed at encouraging those that might not be performing well to realise that through hard work they too can be rewarded,” said Hengari.
Hengari reiterated that as a means of motivating managers who have excelled in their respective departments and resorts, NWR saw it fit to reward them with an award, a weekend for two at any one of its resorts and a cash prize.
Recipients were Elly Nuule, Halali’s acting resort manager, who received the award for Most Improved Resort for drastically reducing the expenses at Halali.
Emenius Kasume, Okaukuejo’s acting resort manager received the award on behalf of Katrina Hoeses Okaukuejo’s manager for being the Best Performing Resort.
Hengari said Okaukuejo generated the most revenue over the past four months.
Meanwhile, Fransiska Nghitila NWR’s Environmental and Compliance Specialist along with Mufaro Nesongano NWR’s Corporate Communications Manager shared the award for Best Performing Head of Department. Whereas Francois Snyder Waterberg’s manager won the Managing Director’s Award for his sheer hard work in the different areas he has been spearheading over the past months such as Desert Knights.
At the same occasion, NWR’s Deputy Chairman Evans Simataa encouraged managers to continuously work hard and forge together in order to achieve the targets set out in the Break Through Strategy.
He said the company has done well under the leadership of Hengari and commended her for her hard work as well.
