Ocean Swallows rugby club recently became the beneficiary of playing gear and various rugby equipment worth N$30 000 from Seaflower fishing company.

Mike Hipunya, chief executive officer of Seaflower said they are very proud to be associated with the team and added that they are inspired by Swallows’ commitment and hard work.

“We want to keep seeing good results coming and hopefully win the league. The new equipment should be well taken care of and please treat them as you would treat your own cars or any other property,” said Hipunya.
Swallows assistant public relations officer Neil Andrews expressed the team’s deep gratitude for the timely sponsorship, saying it is one of the biggest in their history.

“We will proudly wear this gear and hope that we make you proud on the field. We are also planning to share or avail the equipment to schools as they are the ones who feed the club with players,” adds Andrews.

This season the team has so far played eight games, winning four and losing four.

Their record this season is: Swallows 0 – 40 Mariental; Swallows 28 – 16 Arende; Swallows 40 – 0 Rams; Swallows 57 – 6 Dragons; Swallows 15 – 16 Oranjemund; Swallows 7 – 38 Mariental; Swallows 38 -34 Arende; and Swallows 14 – 16 Rams.
