Omuthiya NHE houses near completion

OMUTHIYA – The construction of 30 houses by the National Housing Enterprise in Omuthiya, Oshikoto region, is 80% complete and the houses will be handed over to the beneficiaries in December 2024.

This was said by NHE corporate communications and marketing manager, Mutonga Matali during a media tour of the N$6.5 million project at the town recently.

Matali said the houses, prioritised for ultra and low-income earners, range in prices between N$228 000 and N$459 000, consist of bachelor flats and three-bedroom houses.
“The houses are built with a flat roof that is cheaper than a pitched roof. We ensure that our product is cheaper and affordable,” he said.
Matali further said 75 community members were employed during construction.
The houses are being constructed by Gongaleni Investment.
Matali further revealed that the NHE also spent N$27 million in Ondangwa to construct 64 houses that are 98% complete.
The houses that are being constructed by Kambwa Trading cc, range in prices  between N$392 000 and N$752 000.
In the last two years, NHE has completed and sold 24 houses in Ondangwa, 80 in Omuthiya, 70 in Okahao, 81 in Outapi and 35 houses in Tsandi, at a combined cost of N$85 million.
