Ondangwa gets vehicle clearance office

Ondangwa gets vehicle clearance office

ONDANGWA – The establishment of a motor vehicle clearance office in Ondangwa is not just an infrastructure expansion but a testament to the government’s commitment to making essential services more accessible.

Oshana regional police commander Naftal Sakaria made these remarks while officially inaugurating the Ondangwa Motor Vehicle Clearance Office earlier this week.

“With this new facility, we aim to reduce the burden on our citizens, who previously had to travel long distances to the Oshakati Police Station for vehicle clearance,” he said.

He added that the new office would bring essential services closer to the people, saving residents of Ondangwa and surrounding areas time and money.

“This office will not only enhance the speed and accuracy of motor vehicle clearance but also support our ongoing efforts to combat crime, ensure road safety and promote compliance with national laws,” he stressed.

Sakaria noted that by leveraging technology and improving accessibility, the police are making significant progress in fulfilling their mandate to safeguard life and property, maintain public order and uphold the rule of law.

The office has been equipped with computers valued at N$18 799, donated by Jan Japan Motors.

“Jan Japan’s contribution will go a long way in enhancing our service delivery and ensuring that our officers have the necessary resources to serve the community effectively,” Sakaria said.

He urged community members to take full advantage of the new facility, designed to provide efficient and reliable services.

Also speaking at the event, Ondangwa Town Council councillor Nicodemus Amadhila said the town continues to grow as a hub of economic activity, necessitating strong and accessible public services.

“The establishment of this office is a testament to our collective commitment, both as a local authority and law enforcement, to ensuring that motor vehicle clearance processes are conducted swiftly, transparently and securely,” he stated.

Amadhila highlighted that vehicle-related crimes, such as theft and fraud, remain a challenge across the country.

The newly established facility will play a crucial role in addressing such issues. fhamalwa@nepc.com.na
