The Namibian Basketball Federation (NBF) in collaboration with the Basketball Artists School (BAS) offers an open basketball programme for boys and girls in Katutura.

It takes place every Tuesday and Friday from 14:30 to 16:30 at the basketball courts of the Katutura Sports Complex (Hostel Street/Bondel Street, in the stadium behind the Youth Hostel) and is free of charge.

The open programme is part of the project “Free Throw – Basketball Artists against HIV & AIDS”, funded by the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

“Our main goals are to give more boys and girls the chance to learn and to play basketball, as well as raise awareness for a healthy lifestyle,” says project coordinator and NBF secretary general Ramah Mumba.
