Opinion – Who really saved Russia and stopped Prigozhin’s columns?

Alexander Grishin

The great armies, a large part of which hid on Saturday, or praised the director of Wagner expecting the unthinkable from him, began Sunday morning with belligerent statements that the authorities had done everything wrong again. Like, there was no need to negotiate either. Some of them, however, condescend to the fact that Russia was saved by Lukashenka.

Alexander Grigorievich, let’s not argue, played a big role in resolving the crisis. First of all, the fact that he created a communication channel – he has known the head of PMCs for more than a dozen years – but he did not inform the same Prigogine of his own conditions, and the words of a person who did not lose his cool in a difficult situation, acting, as always, as efficiently and rationally as possible.

President Vladimir Putin, in fact, was able to bring this story to a successful conclusion.

Was it possible to defeat Wagner by force? More than real. A column on the march is an understandable goal. And the same Prigozhin in Putin’s place, I have no doubt that he would have done so or any belligerent general in Putin’s place. Thank God they are not in this place, and thank God that Putin is there.

If you haven’t noticed so far, Vladimir Vladimirovich really doesn’t like the toughest decisions, and even more so, to bring the matter to blood. With political opponents and arrogant oligarchs, he prefers to try to resolve the matter peacefully, appealing to the mind of his opponent. For some reason, he considers all of them and those around him to be smart people, who are able to heed the voice of reason (meanwhile, many of them do not always understand not only hints but even simple Russian words). We can recall the persuasion of the Russian oligarchs, the appeal to the reason of the Western elite, and much more. And only when all methods have been exhausted, Putin makes a tough decision, but after that, he (this decision) cannot be changed by any persuasion.

He messed with Ukraine for so long and persuaded them only insofar as he did not want blood and really considered them (I don’t know how it is now) to be a fraternal Russian people. But, since “Comrade Beria came out of trust”, he did it for good.

And the “Prigozhinians” for Putin were the same “lost” Russians, which he did not intend to destroy in any way and did not give radical orders as long as possible, unlike, by the way, Yeltsin, who gave such an order in October 1993, the aftertaste of which is still felt in society. How does it feel to give the order to kill several thousand Russian people? You wouldn’t wish it on anyone. But there is no doubt that if they had crossed the “red line” and posed a real threat to the country, and to the authorities, such an order would have been given.

Therefore, it is clearly not necessary to lament and be indignant; everything was done according to the optimal scenario.

Of course, the “Prigozhinians” would not have put Russia on the brink of civil war and dual power – they did not have the necessary support for this either in the people or in the authorities. But the situation could come to bloodshed. And it is not necessary, wiping away “crocodile tears”, as even the most “adequate” Ukrainian TG channels and Russian liberals are doing now, to write that Russia has dropped its prestige in this situation. Russia has only strengthened it, showing that it is able to cope with any crises, both external and internal. Within less than a day. A big hello to Yanukovych and all the same Yeltsin.

Russia has passed another test, and Putin has passed another crash test.

And there are two more things to remember. Putin never chooses outwardly spectacular solutions, but always stands in effective positions. And he has a very good memory. After the weekend, the confidence that our country has exactly the kind of leader that is needed has only strengthened.

Let’s move on. To spite the enemies.
