Ghanian boxer Delali Miledzi yesterday warned Paulinus Ndjolonimus that he is going to bring his A-game to the ring when they cross paths on Saturday.
Miledzi and Ndjolonimus will square off in a WBO Africa super middleweight title in the ‘Together as One Part-8’ Boxing Bonanza at Ramatex in the capital.
Speaking during the official face-off held in Post Street Mall, Miledzi said he is excited about the fight, adding that it will be brutal.
“I want all the fans to come in numbers and support us. It will be a beautiful match on Saturday and I can’t wait to see this man in the ring,” he said.
In response, Ndjolonimus said that he is ready to put his life on the line for his title and there is no way he is going to let another man take what belongs to him.
“Trust me, I know myself and what I am capable of. I think my opponent is just talking and doesn’t know what he is saying. I am willing to die for my belt and that’s what I am going to do on Saturday. I won’t do much talking but come Saturday, I will do the talking in the ring,” said an upbeat Ndjolonimus.
Meanwhile, South Africa’s Sabelo Ngebinyana, who will face the unpredictable Fillipus Nghitumbwa, said he has studied his opponent well and knows what to expect on Saturday when they meet.
“I am here to win hearts and fans but most importantly the title. I am also here to take what is mine and on Saturday, I will come out as the new WBO champion. I will be doing what I do best,” he added.
Nghitumbwa said he is not scared of Ngebinyana and will go into the ring and stick to the plan, which is defending his title in style.
“I don’t think he knows what he is saying. I am the champion and the title (WBO Global Super Bantamweight) belongs here. I will defend my title and I will dismantle him in the ring. I will make sure to use all chances to end the fight as early as possible,” he said confidently.
Other bouts on the night will be between Charles Shinima and Tiwo Oluwo from Nigeria for the WBO Africa welterweight title; Mateus Heita and Hassan Milanzi of Zimbabwe for the WBO/WBA super bantamweight title; Emmanuel Mungadjela and Rafael Iita (welterweight); Sam Mathews and Silas Shangadjua (featherweight); Joseph Hihangwa and Thomas Jerobeam (super middleweight); Fredrick Nghutenanye and Tobias Iipinge (featherweight); Max Iipinge and Shipahu Dicer (super middleweight); and Onesmus Nekundi and Magret Nepembe (junior featherweight)
