To inspire young imaginations AFRICAVENIR and Franco Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC), in partnership with Hisa Community Centre, present a film screening especially for children and youth.

A double screening of the film Tjitji the Himba Girl will take place at Hisa Community Centre in Katutura on Friday December 4 at 14h30 and on Saturday December 5 at the Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC) at 10h00 in the morning.

The short movie is about a young, successful and ambitious student’s secret dreams of being the next famous ‘Talk Show Host’. However, she is concerned that Ovahimba customs and practices, relating to young girls her age, will jeopardise her personal dreams.

Tjitji is a 22-minute film directed by Oshosheni Hiveluah in 2014. It is in Otjiherero with English subtitles. Entrance fee for the screening at the Hisa Community Centre is free, while at the FNCC it is N$5 for children and N$15 for adults.
