Home Youth Corner OYO premieres film on teenage pregnancy

Windhoek

The Ombetja Yehinga Organisation (OYO) is premiering their latest DVD, Pap and Milk, at the Warehouse Theatre tomorrow.
Pap and Milk has been produced under the theme ‘Teenage Pregnant’, which was launched recently. OYO director Philippe Talavera says Pap and Milk is about a 12th grader, called Susan (played by Melissa Reed) who lives with her little brother, her mom and her grandmother.

Having lost their breadwinner, their father, and thus their source of income the mother, Juliana (Lourina Josephat), who has never worked before is not willing to change her living standard.

They now survive on the old age allowance of grandma, (Mara Baumgartner), which is not enough to cover all the expenses. When Juliana notices the way men look at her daughter, she suggests that Susan starts dating sugar daddies to bring income into the household.

“For action don’t miss the premiere,” says Talavera, adding that the film is part of OYO’s teenage pregnancy awareness campaign to prevent the perennial social problem in schools and to support pregnant young girls.

The premiere starts at 19h00 today (Wednesday) and entrance is free.
