By Staff Reporter Windhoek – President Hifikepunye Pohamba will open the 5th Session of the 4th Parliament of the Republic of Namibia this afternoon. Parliament has been on recess since last year November. The theme of this year’s official opening will be “Enhancing Parliamentary Outreach through Consultative Constituencies on Service Delivery”. A number of bills such as the Labour Bill, Value Added Tax Amendment Bill, Motor Vehicle Accident Funds Bill, Vocational Education Training Bill and Electricity Bill are expected to be tabled during this parliamentary session. The Information Department of the National Assembly announced that the opening of Parliament will be broadcast live by the national broadcaster NBC-TV and its radio stations from 13h00. Guests are requested to enter the parliament premises before the arrival of the head of state. The Information Department further announced that the following streets will be closed off to public traffic from 12h00: Robert Mugabe Avenue and Lindequist Street; Daniel Munamava Street and LÃÆ’Æ‘Æ‘ÃÆ”šÃ‚¼deritz Street; LÃÆ’Æ‘Æ‘ÃÆ”šÃ‚¼deritz Street and Fidel Castro Street; Robert Mugabe and Dr Sam Nujoma Avenue.
