Petrus calls on BA members to action …meeting set to restore club affairs

Former Black Africa player and current chairperson of the club’s Supporters Committee Anzelus ‘Jomo’ Petrus has urged all paid-up members to attend a crucial meeting scheduled for Saturday at the Katutura Youth Complex at 12h00.

He said the purpose of the meeting is to elect a new committee to take charge of the community club and properly map out its affairs.

He stressed that strong leadership and unity are needed to steer Black Africa back onto the right path.

Having played for Black Africa from 1985 to 1997, Petrus said it is painful to witness the club’s current situation.

He added that the club played a major role in shaping his life, noting that he grew up in a household where every family member supported Black Africa.

“Black Africa also schooled me when I was at Döbra, so it hurts to see that we cannot hold hands and work together to restore the club to its glory days. We need to rectify the problems,” he said.

Black Africa is currently competing in the Second Division and has upcoming fixtures against DTS and Young Generations.

While results on the field remain important, Petrus emphasised that it is equally critical to fix issues off the pitch.

He noted that an interim Legends Committee was expected to convene an annual general meeting on 24 January, but it did not materialise.

“We need to meet this weekend, without any fighting, and elect new members who can move the club forward,” Petrus added.
