WINDHOEK – Plenty of jokes, which culminated in abundant laughter and unbelievable team spirit was synonymous with last weekend’s Securitas & Bible Society’s Golf Day.

Young and old took to the course with equal enthusiasm last Saturday, with the coastal team from Walvis Bay Golf Club walking away with the trophy with a staggering points tally of 97.

Hot on their heels were Plastic Packaging in second place with 96 points, followed by DF Malherbe & Partners in 3rd place with 92 points. Pieter Burger walked away with the prize for nearest to the pin at hole number 18, while D. de Wit received the prize for the longest drive at hole number 15.

The prize-giving ceremony was followed by an auction and a delicious cheese and wine. All funds raised from the tourney will go towards Bible translation and distribution.

The Bible Society expressed gratitude towards the main sponsor Securitas, including other sponsors that made the day possible.
