Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila is recovering well following a scheduled operation at a hospital in Windhoek, the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) has announced.
The announcement follows rumours on social media that the PM is critically ill. Speaking to Nampa on Wednesday, OPM spokesperson Rhingo Mutambo said Kuugongelwa-Amadhila had undergone planned surgery, and is in a stable condition.
The operation was successful, and doctors expect her to recover completely.
“As of now, the PM is expected to recover fully and resume her duties in due course,” he said.
