Afrocats looking to bounce back...as MTC NNPL continues

AFROCAT Lions will be looking to redeem themselves in the MTC Netball Namibia Premier League (NNPL) during the weekend when they face Tigers in a crucial tie on Sunday.

On Tuesday, Lions suffered a narrow defeat to Wanderers by 40–39 points, and this weekend they have another tough assignment.

Reflecting on Tuesday’s defeat, Lions’ head coach Dimitri Bittler expressed disappointment in the loss, saying they should have picked up the points. However, he said it was a tough game, and his side was unfortunate to have lost the match at the very last minute.

“It was a very interesting match where all teams were determined to collect points, but unfortunately, we narrowly lost the match by a single point. I applaud my players, as they put on a great show and didn’t give up the fight. I think it wasn’t just our day.”

Looking ahead, Bittler said they hope to collect points when they face an equally good Tigers team on Sunday. “It’s not going to be an easy match for us this weekend. Playing against Tigers is always tough, but I believe we have what it takes to win the game. We have quality on our team, and we are going to put in our all to ensure we come out victorious on Sunday,” he said.

In other fixtures this weekend, Namibia Correctional Services (NCS) will square off today against Tigers at 18h30, while Wanderers will face NCS on Sunday as well.
