Air Namibia Procures 2 Airbuses
By Anna Ingwafa WINDHOEK AIR Namibia is expecting the arrival of the first of two Airbus A340-300 long haul jetliners as part of its fleet modernisation. The new jetliner is expected to land at the Hosea Kutako International Airport today at 09h30. According to Air Namibia's managing director Kosmas Egumbo, the arrival of the Airbus A340-300 marks an important milestone in their fleet modernisation as well as a new chapter in the records of the national airliner. He noted that the fleet is a state-of-the-art aircraft with the latest revolutionary technology. Another official from Air Namibia said the Airbus would come as a replacement to one of the MD11 aircrafts, that operates daily flights between Windhoek and Europe - four times to and from Frankfurt in Germany and three flights to and from London Gatwick in the United Kingdom. The new Airbus is one of the major projects that the national airliner has in the pipeline.
