Bafana Star Urges Discipline
"By Kuvee Kangueehi WINDHOEK FORMER Bafana Bafana and Leeds United FC captain Lucas Radebe has advised young Namibian footballers to be disciplined on and off the field from young as such discipline would play a fundamental role in their professional football careers and general future. The South African legend made the call during one of his coaching clinics on Saturday morning. ""If you want to play in Europe or elsewhere, only discipline will get you there,"" said Radebe. Radebe arrived last week in the capital and witnessed the FNB Cup Final as a FNB brand and special guest. The former Kaizer Chiefs player during his two-day stay in Namibia was involved in a number of activities ranging from media conferences, coaching clinics for children between the age groups of 10 to 15 years, signing autographs, meeting FNB staff and the public and driving through Katutura and other suburbs of Windhoek. During the coaching clinic, Radebe transferred some of his football skills and techniques to the youth at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Saturday morning - from dribbling, passing, spacing ball control as well as playing as a team member. Radebe also called on the youth to take their education seriously. ""You must take education very seriously, you need to know what you want to become in life, and if you are disciplined your education will come easy,"" he stressed. Radebe also envisages bringing a Lucas Radebe Invitational Team to Namibia play the Brave Warriors as part of the 2006 edition of the FNB Cup next year."
