Bank Commits to Job Creation
"By Emma Kakololo BANK Windhoek has reaffirmed its commitment towards job creation by handing over certificates and toolkits to the value of N$40 000 to students of the KAYEC Skills Training Centre at Ondangwa recently. Last month, the Bank awarded ten top students of the KAYEC Center in Windhoek toolkits to the value of N$40 000, making the Bank's total contribution towards the KAYEC Trust for 2005, N$80 000. Since the establishment of the Bank Windhoek Social Investment Fund in January 2002, KAYEC Trust has been one of the beneficiaries and to date, the fund has invested N$240 000 in start-up toolkits for students at both centres. KAYEC Trust empowers young Namibians with knowledge in the fields of bricklaying and plastering, carpentry and joinery, plumbing and pipefitting and welding and fabrication and the toolkits donated by the Bank would supplement their training and thus enable students to start their own small businesses. ""Bank Windhoek is aware of the successes that previous recipients of the toolkits have achieved and we are proud of our contribution towards their success,"" said the Bank's Managing Director James Hill, at the handing over-ceremony."
