Police in Omusati arrested a 57-year-old ex-NDF member, who allegedly stabbed his girlfriend (24) at Oshikuku on Tuesday evening.

Omusati police chief Titus Shikongo said the incident happened at 21h40 at Epaya location.

According to Shikongo, the couple was having a night out before a disagreement ensued.

The suspect allegedly stabbed his girlfriend three times.

“It is alleged that a misunderstanding then developed between the two, which led to the suspect stabbing the victim with an Okapi knife twice in the back and once in the stomach, and also cut her on the left finger,” said Shikongo.

He said the victim sustained serious injuries as a result.

She was taken to a hospital in Oshikuku but was later transferred to Oshakati. The suspect fled but was arrested in Oshikuku.

“He is charged and due to appear in Oshakati Magistrate’s Court on Thursday 23 September 2021,” said Shikongo.
