Exciting netball was on display over the weekend in the Khomas Netball League with exciting games played at Patrick Iyambo Netball Court in Olympia, Windhoek and Rehoboth.

The Khomas league featured games in the Super 10, First Division and Second Division.

In the Super 10 category, Khomas Nampol faced off against Namibia Correctional Service (NSC), resulting in a thrilling 31-26 victory for Nampol.

Meanwhile, United displayed dominance as they defeated Unam Jaguars with an impressive 15-0 win. Another exciting match on Saturday saw Gomonate Fellas falling short 27-33 over NDF.

In the Second Division, Tigers demonstrated their prowess by overwhelming Afrocat Lions with a resounding 15-0 victory.

Zebra Force, on the other hand, emerged victorious over United 2 with a final score of 38-28.

Elizabeth Max, the public relations officer of the league, shared her thoughts on games played over the weekend, saying it was quite competitive.

She expressed her admiration for the teams’ relentless efforts, despite the adverse weather conditions.

“Despite the freezing cold temperatures in the capital, it was heart-warming to witness the passion and dedication displayed by the teams on the court. The games were played with immense energy and love. The Khomas Netball League continues to thrive despite the challenges, and it’s a beautiful sight to behold,” she said.

On the hand, Afrocat Lions’ coach Dimitri Bittler expressed his disappointment with the weekend’s results but acknowledged that it revealed areas that need improvement within the team.

“It wasn’t what we had hoped for, but we will regroup and analyse our performance. We need to identify the areas that require fixing and make the necessary adjustments. The inclement weather may have played a crucial role in our results today (Saturday), but we are determined to rectify everything and bounce back stronger,” he added.
