A few weeks ago, we embarked on a mission to visualiSe #IndustryLoop with a podcast. #IndustryLoop is a column that I have authored since 2014. It’s a column the whole entertainment and arts industry flocks to for either direction or cutthroat analyses. As per everything in this world...things evolve. I’ve always been quick to speak about entertainers needing to evolve. How dare I speak about it but not walk the talk?
Another important subject matter that I always speak about is research and development.
R&D is exactly what we did before launching #IndustryLoop The Podcast with the NSK.
Apart from scientific research, wherever I would frequent...Industry peers would always make it a point to have me understand that if it’s one person that needs to anchor a podcast...it should be me. I am the point of reference. I have earned my ranking and respect after years of consultancy and work in radio, MC, film, theatre and print (column).
But hey...everyone has a podcast these days, right? Everyone is mos kama inspired by Mac G right? Not knowing that Mac G had worked from the ground up for infinite years to earn the position he occupies today. Before the podcast...Mac G was already in the industry. Hustling left right and centre. So, I am always puzzled about these unknowns who are on these streets with podcasts. Ano, who are you? What have you done for this industry? What are your credentials? Why should Pombili Shilongo, CJay Eiseb, Top Cheri or Jericho be on your podcast? Just because or what? Stop it.
Your entitlement is downright weird. Do something, contribute something,
build your brand, earn the trust. To a point where Pombili Shilongo, CJay
Eiseb, Top Cheri or Jericho including myself will be unable to say no to
