Industry Loop – Namibia to the World!

Home National Industry Loop – Namibia to the World!
Industry Loop – Namibia to the World!

IN THE famous words of well, literally everyone…there is my truth, your truth and the actual truth.

For the next few weeks, we are going to focus on this mantra. We are going to give every single newsmaker deserving of a platform a chance to air their truth. We will further move to accord anyone else mentioned by these newsmakers an opportunity to bring light to their

version of events as well.

Leonard Witbeen is the name that comes to mind. Leonard Witbeen is an incredible newscaster who recently made headlines after being released from his duty by the national broadcaster for events that were unfolding in his personal space.

Leonard is this week’s guest on the podcast version of #IndustryLoop. Visit the New Era Newspaper Facebook fan page for the podcast and watch it…attentively. Revert with the hashtag #IndustryLoop with your tweets and I dare you to tell me that Leonard does not deserve a second chance.

I’ve always believed that Leonard deserves to be on an international broadcasting platform. In this week’s podcast edition that features Leonard, if you look a little deeper…you will notice something exceptionally divine.

Regardless of how hard a man falls, you will never ever strip him of what was gifted to him by his maker. Leonard Witbeen is an exceptionally gifted newscaster. Leonard…along with other highly talented Namibians ought to have the backing of everyone which would elevate them to international status.

If you look at other forward-thinking countries like South Africa, Nigeria etc….You will see the best of talents from these countries on international platforms. Trevor Noah did ‘The Daily Sho’…an award-winning American prime-time show for years. Nigerian Chioma Obianinwa has been with the BBC for almost 15 years! What is stopping us from having a Namibian on

these international platforms? Can you imagine Leonard on the BBC or CNN? You should be able to imagine it.

That’s the first step for us, as Namibians to accept that we are enough. That we too…can conquer

international shores. Because why the heck not?!

Until the next Loop, we say #GMTM
