Katima Mulilo Urban constituency councillor, John Mukaya, who died last month in a car accident in the Mpyu area along the Katima Mulilo-Ngoma road, was laid to rest at Silumbi village in the Zambezi region on Tuesday.
Mukaya was 49-years-old. He represented the Zambezi region in the National Council, and was accorded a State funeral by President Hage Geingob.
In the National Council’s message of condolences, its chairperson, Lukas Muha described Mukaya as an intelligent and insightful contributor during council debates.
“His contribution was analytical and vibrant and it became clear that he had the ability to study issues before taking the floor,” said Muha.
He further stated that Mukaya was a councillor of note.
