A 23-year-old man died instantly after he was stabbed with a knife for allegedly staring at a suspect who was urinating in the street in Katutura’s Maroela on Saturday. 

According to the weekend crime report, it is alleged the suspect who was urinating in the street confronted the victim about why he was staring at him but the victim denied staring at him. The suspect allegedly then moved closer to the victim, took out a knife and stabbed the victim. 

The report further indicated that the victim was transported to Katutura state hospital where he succumbed to his injuries the same day at 08h00.  

“His next of kin were informed; he was identified as Clinton Erastus Shou. The suspect was arrested and expected to make his first court appearance this week,” said the report. 

At Havana on Saturday a 29-year-old, David Shikambe, died when he was stabbed with a sharp object on the left side of the neck, ear and shoulder, causing him to die on the scene. 

According to the police, the motive behind the stabbing is not known and the suspect, a 22-year-old man, was arrested and admitted to the Katutura hospital under police guard, while one suspect is still at large.

At Greenmountain Road in Goreangab, Isak Hofni Elago (20) died after he was stabbed with knives in the chest by three to four male suspects. Elago succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon, his next of kin were informed but no arrests were made. 

On Saturday, around 00:30, at Ongwari Street, Okuryangava, 31-year-old John Nangula died after he was hit with a brick by two suspects. The victim was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. His next of kin were informed, while no arrests were made. 

More fatal incidents were reported in Windhoek at the weekend. At Havana on Sunday at around 01h25, a 48-year-old woman died after she was hacked to death with a panga all over her head allegedly by her 51-year-old husband. 

Another man, who was identified as David Bock, died after he was punched with a fist by another man during an argument. 

“It is alleged that the victim and the suspect had an argument and the deceased allegedly punched the suspect, whereafter the suspect retaliated by punching the deceased once with a fist. The victim fell and died on the spot. The known suspect, who is 25 years old, was arrested,” said the police.
