Mr and Miss Face of Namibia crowned

Johnathan Harris and Taikeisha Resandt were recently crowned Mr and Miss Face of Namibia.

Resandt, Miss Face of Namibia, expressed her enthusiasm for making a positive impact on young girls who lack self-confidence.

She aims to address hunger and healthcare challenges faced by homeless children by collaborating with various entities.

Resandt shared her strategy of targeting youth and promoting positive mindsets, emphasising courage, determination and humility as her strengths.

“I plan to lead by example, advocating for education and self-worth to alleviate poverty and hunger among my fellow young people,” she said.

Reflecting on her journey, Resandt highlighted the importance of self-belief and striving for aspirations. She encouraged others to aim high, even if they did not reach their ultimate goals.

Harris, Mr Face of Namibia 2023, intends to continue his advocacy for
mental and emotional health through the Blush Foundation Trust, which he co-founded.

He aims to create meaningful change in the lives of young individuals across the country, seeking corporate assistance to extend his outreach.

Harris expressed his desire to travel to various regions of the country to leave his footprint and continue the legacies of past winners while creating his own. Both winners are committed to driving positive change and leaving a lasting impact on their communities.

“As a small-town boy from Swakopmund, I strive to reach commonality among ourselves as we break down societal standards that have been keeping us back for so long. Hence, as I mentioned, I would like to use my advocacy of mental and emotional health activism to build, empower, elevate and strengthen the minds of the youth of Namibia,” he said.

Harris added that the best word to describe this experience with the face of Namibia organisation would be that it is eye-opening, as it has broadened the scope of his horizons even more.

This, he says, truly sets it apart from others within Namibia.

Overall, he takes away a life-changing moment that will live with him forever, as well as brotherhood with his fellow finalists.
