Murdered boy’s remains to be released to family

WALVIS BAY - The police have indicated that the remains of Adrian Myne Oswyn (6), who was brutally killed and dismembered two weeks ago in Karibib, will be released to the family this week. Upon enquiry yesterday, Erongo police chief Nikolaus Kupembona told New Era that the post-mortem was concluded, and the remains were expected back in the region later this week.

Asked whether his cause of death could be positively determined, Kupembona said he still needs to see the post-mortem report.

Oswyn initially went missing on 4 October, and his partial remains were found days later floating on a sewage dam, about 1.2 kilometres from the Harambee location where both his mother and grandfather live.

Police had questioned four people regarding the incident, including two of Oswyn’s relatives. However, no one has been arrested so far for the vicious murder.

Kupembona yesterday said police have been following up all possible leads to solve this heinous crime.

“We have re-interviewed some persons of interest, while we are also following up new leads from the public. We remain positive that we will make a breakthrough in the case”, he added.

Kupembona also appealed to the public to continue assisting the police in solving the murder.

Oswyns’s mother, Rieta Seibes, earlier also appealed to whoever is responsible for her son’s death to hand themselves over to the police.

“Please, I don’t know who you are, but please contact the police if you have killed my son so we can get justice for his murder,” she pleaded.

Anyone with information can contact Kupembona at 081292 9295 or deputy commissioner Erastus Iikuyu at 0812464757.
