MVA Joins Hands with Hospital
"By John Ekongo WINDHOEK Motor vehicle accident victims in the country can now look forward to quality medical care at one of Namibia's renowned health facilities at the coast. This is thanks to a memorandum of agreement signed between the Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (MVA) and the Walvis Bay Medipark's Welwitschia Private Hospital. Rosalia Martins-Hausiku, the Chief: Corporate Affairs at the fund, said that this is just another effort in the many endeavours the fund is undertaking to ""extend a helping hand to those left vulnerable by motor vehicle accidents"". According to the agreement, the MVA will be responsible for all costs that an accident survivor incurs, from the time they are admitted until they are discharged from the Welwitschia Hospital. The fund also has a working arrangement with the Ongwediva Medi-Park and the Ministry of Health and Social Services in place. With the envisaged new act, the Motor Vehicle Accident Fund Act, Martins-Hausiku said, the fund will introduce a payment system where the fund will pay all costs to any medical service provider for patients until they stabilize during their time in hospital.
