Space Age vows to represent Zambezi in the MTC NFA Cup…as Blue Waters meet Eleven Arrows in the main attraction

David Silishebo, the coach of Space Age football club, yesterday downplayed his team receiving a tough opponent in the MTC Namibia Football Association (NFA) AWEH Round of 32, saying his team is a force to be reckoned with.

Space Age from Katima Mulilo will face Mighty Gunners from Otjiwarongo in the first round of the MTC NFA CUP AWEH to be played during the weekend of 15 and 16 May 2021.

Reacting to the draw, Silishebo said his charges are ready for whoever comes their way, adding that them being drawn against Mighty Gunners means they are capable of playing at that level. “The draw was fairly conducted; we are happy with the team we are pitted against. We just have to prepare and remain ready for this encounter. I trust my players and we are ready to go all in,” he told New Era Sports after the draw yesterday.

Silishebo said they hope to go all the way to the final round of the tournament.

“I have experienced players and we are going to push as far as the last round of the competition. We are the only team from the [Zambezi] region and we want to make our region proud. I know we have been dubbed as the last-born region when it comes to football, but we are in to prove everyone wrong,” said the confident coach. All teams will be provided with playing gear and N$18 000 for logistics.  The player of the series will walk away with N$20 000, while the top goal scorer and goalkeeper of the tournament will each pocket
N$15 000.
