Our Star of the Week is Libolly Haufiku, the owner of Ombaye Fishing, who on Monday, responded to the call of the Minister of Health and Social Services, Dr Bernard Haufiku who appealed to Good Samaritans to save the eye clinic at the Windhoek Central Hospital that had run out of funds and was on the verge of closure. Haufiku donated N$100 000 to save the eye clinic that last week due to the lack of medicine and funds was forced to close temporarily. The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Social Services, Ben Nangombe, explained that an evaluation of the needs in equipment and medication would be carried out, to respond to all the difficulties experienced by the eye clinic. “We felt it is important to assist the government, as it can’t do it alone. We know that the economy hardship is affecting everyone in the country. We hope others will come on board and assist,” said Haufiku.
