Talent not used is a waste of time

Sakaria Shiwayu is a full-time musician, who is fully focused on polishing his art every day of his life.

He joined the music industry in 2018 because he wanted to be heard, and also to make a difference with his God-given voice.

The 26-year-old, also known as Focus Fireboy, does a combination of rap and kwaito music to entertain and educate through art.

Shiwayu told VIBEZ! his music reflects his true way of living, which is being humble and always positive about everything that arises.

He released a new album, titled ‘I am a go-getter’, on 20 June 2022.

“Go-getter simply means that no matter what comes your way, if you want something, you will get it for real,” he explained.

“I’m more into dropping positive energy songs than anything else. I like to create a song according to how I feel, express it limitlessly and it should touch my heart too.”

Shiwayu said he worked hard to bring this project to life, working in the cold and experiencing sleepless nights.

He said his art is “magical”, explaining the whole combination of ideas and words in his songs will not go unnoticed, and his music will heal and touch whoever listens to it.

On where his inspiration comes from, Shiwayu said he is motivated from seeing other local artists doing great with their art.

“I’m fully focused on using my talent wisely and to inspire. I will remain committed to becoming the best local musician in the near future,” he promised.

Shiwayu thanked his producer Chakie Beatz for always being there when he needed him the most, as well as GAB Investment CC, who sponsored his new album.

He made it a point to mention that being a musician is not easy, as, at times, he finds himself without money to pay for the studio and the producer of his music.

“But let’s all stand together. Let’s all support local artists to promote them. We don’t grow when things are easy; we grow when we face challenges. Therefore, we should not give up,” he urged.

The ‘I am a go-getter’ CD goes for N$150, and audio music via WhatsApp is N$100.

He is based in Eenhana and can be reached on his social media handles: Instagram @ Focus_Fireboy, Facebook @Focus_Fireboy or YouTube Focus_Fireboy.
